Tempt Your Fate with the Crocs in Darwin

Tempt Your Fate with the Crocs in Darwin

While working for the cruise line, I was fortunate to travel all over the world. One contract, I was assigned the circumnavigation of Australia, and one of our stops was Darwin, in the Northern territory.

It was October in Australia, and I was walking down the gangway to spend a couple hours in Darwin. You know that feeling of putting your hand on something really hot, and getting that immediate knee-jerk reaction to pull it away? My whole body had that sensation once I stepped foot on solid ground in Darwin. It was HOT.

The most popular tour in Darwin was to take a cruise on the river to see crocodiles in the open. Sounds fun right? Unfortunately, with my limited time off work...I couldn't make that happen. But still wanting to see crocodiles, I found other options in Darwin city.

Look at those teeth!

I paid the outlandish fee to enter Crocosaurus Cove, an aquarium of crocodiles. While not as exciting as being out in the open would have been, I still got an up close look at these creatures, watched them being feed, and saw how high they could jump! .

Crocosaurus Park was popular with the kids, and there is family entry pricing.

That was it for my crocodile adventure. If so desiring, one could hold a baby one or pay more cash to go down in a glass tank aptly called, "The Cage of Death" and watch the monsters try and claw their way in to devour you.

I passed on both opportunities.
